In a campaign marked with many high profile endorsements, Donald Trump now has one more major name to add to the list. Last Friday, the National Fraternal Order of Police announced they would be endorsing Trump in the race for president.
“Mr. Trump has seriously looked at the issues facing law enforcement today. He understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make America safe again,” announced FOP President, Chuck Canterbury.
In order for Trump to receive the endorsement, he was required to garner support from two-thirds of the FOP’s National Board, which he did. The announcement serves a major win for Trump, considering the FOP did not endorse Romney in the 2012 election. The members of the board, as well as Chuck Canterbury, were very impressed with Trump and optimistic in his ability to restore law, order and respect to our nation.
“He took time off the campaign trail and met with us to talk about our issues and our priorities…He’s made a real commitment to America’s law enforcement and we’re proud to make a commitment to him and his campaign by endorsing his candidacy today,” said Canterbury.
